The participants comprising of young scientist, faculty, students and industrial representatives discussed critical issues like potential loss of bio diversity, its conservation and management of land resources.

The eminent speakers present on the occasion were ER JP Malhotra, FIE (Chairman Faridabad local centre IEI), Er. RP Deshpandey (Convener- IEI), Er. KK Narula ( Honorable secretary- IEI), Guest of Honour for the occasion were Sh. PK Jain (Director –Engineering and facilities, planning Ranbaxy Lab, Mohali), Sh.JC Singhal(Chairman ENDB, IEI). A lot of research is going on to find the alternate source of energy”. Speaking on the event Sh. PK Jain said ,“ Different categories of bio mass is available from field and plantation, industries, forest, urban waste and aquatic. Biomass can be utilized for heat and electricity, as a source of transportation fuel, to reduce the build up of combustion residue, etc”. 26 search papers were presented by young scientist in the area of Waste Management and energy from waste, biofuel and environment and pollution

26 research papers from different research scholars were presented. The final out comings of the seminar would be sent to the government of Haryana and Institutions of Engineers for approval and implementation, thus paving the way for bio degradable waste to be used in a lucrative manner.

What is Biomass?

Biomass is a biological material from living, or recently living organism, most often referring to plants or plant derived material.
A National Conference on Quality standards of private technical educational institutions was organized by the Humanities and Management Department of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad. The topics for discussion encompassed a vast range of issues concerned with quality standards in private technical educational organizations. The focus of the scholars was on theory and application of various aspects of quality standards and its impact on the quality of professionals coming from that organization. The distinguished presenters were Mr. Saeed Alshahrani from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, Ms. Manisha Saxena from Indian Institute of Planning & Management, Pune, Ms. Shaheen Zaman, NEF College of Management & IT, Guwahati, Dr. P.
The conference got a good response from all over the country. Delegates from all over India participated and presented their papers. More than 30 papers were received from about 40 academicians and scholars from various Institutes and Universities all across India and abroad. 15 researchers presented their research papers in the conference’

Soni, Executive Director and Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology said that we need to establish a direct link between the quality standards of an educational organization and the quality of the graduates and masters produced by it, the main motto of technical educational organizations is to produce highly skilled intellectually and emotionally sound professionals. And the quality of the professionals is very much dependent on the quality standards maintained by the organization. Quality standards, which includes maintaining adequate standard in human resources and infrastructure as well as in the informative and skill related material, very much affects the intellectual and productive quality of professionals produced by the organization. He rued the fact that very few organizations are able to maintain quality standards. At the same time he expressed satisfaction that MRIU is among a few organizations which has been striving and successfully maintaining the quality standards.
